Disabled American Veterans Virginia provides comprehensive support to veterans and their families through specialized programs. We offer expert guidance with claims and benefits assistance, emergency relief and homelessness programs, and free medical transportation for VA appointments. Our mission is to ensure every veteran can access vital resources and compassionate care.
Administrative Oversight
The Department Service Commission (DSC) was established on June 20, 1987 to have jurisdiction and control over all service-related and rehabilitative activities of the Department of Virginia, and existed until 2023, when a streamlined approach to the management of the DAV Department of Virginia services was undertaken starting with the establishment of a Department Service Director position.
The Service Director oversees the following Service Committees/Programs:
