Virginia DAV Transportation Network

The Virginia DAV Transportation Network is dedicated to assisting disabled veterans across the Commonwealth by providing free, reliable transportation to VA medical centers and clinics. Operated by a committed team of volunteer drivers, our service ensures veterans receive access to vital healthcare appointments, supporting their wellbeing and independence. The program coordinates with local medical centers in Hampton, Richmond, Salem, and Roanoke, maintaining a confidential and compassionate environment for all riders.

Request a Ride

Are you a veteran in need of transportation to a medical appointment?

  • Our service is free of charge for eligible disabled veterans.

  • Rides are available to VA medical centers in Hampton, Richmond, Salem, and Roanoke.

  • To request a ride, please contact the coordinator for your area using the phone numbers listed above.

Ride Request Instructions:

  1. Call your local coordinator’s office at least 48 hours in advance.

  2. Provide your name, VA patient identification, appointment date/time, and pickup location.

  3. The coordinator will confirm availability and schedule your ride.

  4. All information is handled confidentially and securely.

Important Notes:

  • Due to high demand, reservations should be made as early as possible.

  • Riders must be able to board and exit the vehicle independently or with their caregiver’s help.

  • Please notify the coordinator for cancellations or changes as soon as possible.
